| The monitor hypothesis in the second language acquisition theory proves that the grammar translation method can help students enrich their knowledge of English and improve the accuracy of English and their reading, writing and translating abilities while the input hypothesis proves that the communicative approach can help students improve the fluency of English and their listening and speaking abilities. So the integration of the two methods should be adopted by college English teachers to help the students enrich their knowledge of English,lay a solid foundation of English and improve their comprehensive skills in using English. |
