There are so many theories about social transition. Researchers often emphasize the importance of time shift and electronic media. But the majority of the researchers seem unwilling to explore time. Undoubtedly, this is the chance for communication research. Scholars should explore the relationship between time and electronic media, develop new theories, and devote themselves to constructing the new crossroads in communication. Communication research concerning time used to focus on four aspects: "time of media use", "the bias of communication", "how the Broadcast media construct everyday life", "news report and time idea". But these subjects are virtually distant from time idea, only regarding time as a tool or a number. So this article suggests that we should concentrate on the relationship between electronic media and time idea, to develop a time space theory for communication. It would definitely make communication a more theoretical and independent discipline. |
