| 20世纪初，蔡元培的学术治校、兼容并包的办学方针开创性地构建了中国现代大学学术本位的大学理念和大学制度体系；同时期以留美学生为师资主体的东南大学的制度性改革在办学实践层面上开拓了一条以美国模式为特色的大学发展之路，两校共同影响了中国现代大学的定型，使中国现代大学不仅在理念上，同时在具体的办学实践上，实现了现代转型；传承中国现代大学宝贵的精神财富和实践经验，当前我国高等教育需要重塑以学术为主体的大学精神和大学制度体系。 |

| With the ideal of academic administration and the inclusiveness school running policy, Cai Yuan-pei pioneered in constructing modern university ideas and institutional system in the early 20th century.At the same time, Southeast University，with most faculty graduating from American universities, began its institutional reform and blazed a university development way with American characteristics. The two universities together influenced Chinese universities' stereotype, and modernized both the concepts and practice of Chinese universities. Inheriting the valuable spiritual possession and practical experience of universities in modern China,high education now needs to remold university spirit and system centered on academic ends. |
