| 怀古诗词是中国古典文学的一个重要组成部分，而金陵怀古又是其中最重要的内容。金陵有“六朝古都”之誉，历来是文人吟诵的对象，唐宋诗词中凡涉及金陵者都与怀古有关。唐宋文人怀古追昔，寻找沉痛的历史沦亡教训，同时也抒写个人无尽的伤感，使得金陵文化更添一份感伤的底蕴。 |

| Nostalgia poetry is an essential component of Chinese classical literature of which Jinling nostalgia is the most significant one. Jinling, today's Nanjing, boasts its reputation as "the ancient capital of six dynasties" and has been praised by the intellectuals and poets throughout the time. In the poetry of Tang and Song Dynasties, those involving Jinling are always associated with nostalgia. The intellectuals reminisced about the past in pursuit of the lessons that can be learnt from the sad perishing of history, and meanwhile conveyed their endless personal melancholy, which adds a deposit of sorrow to Jinling culture. |
