| The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber is of great artistic charm with its distinctive and unique narrative style among Hemingway’s short stories. In the aspect of narrative mode, cross-section style of writing, selecting time points around the theme, rhythm in relaxation as well as ending in suspense fully display Hemingway’s ingenuity in conception. As far as the descriptive mode is concerned, description of expression and bearing, language description, especially portrait description and psychological description show vividness and characteristics in Hemingway’s description. The ingenious conception and vivid description constitute the artistic structural features of this novel. |
