站在社会本位的立场，通过回顾理想主义与功利主义在我国教育中的历史演变，依据认识积累及历史事实，从中理出线索，可以发现：理想主义与功利主义对于教育的健康发展都是至关重要和不可或缺的，我国教育价值取向的演变从总体上说属于国家主导性演变，演变的实质是在“理想主义-功利主义”的张力关系中寻求平衡，不同历史时期有不同的定位，任何绝对理想主义或背离理想只求实用的做法都是错误的。

英文摘要:

From the position of social standard, this paper, by reviewing the history of idealism and utilitarianism of education in China, and on the basis of knowledge accumulation and historical facts, sorts out clues and finds that idealism and utilitarianism is important and indispensable to the healthy development of education;and that the evolution of the value orientation of education generally belongs to the state dominated evolution, and the essence of evolution is to seek balance between idealism and utilitarianism. There is different positioning in different historical periods, and any approach of either absolute idealism or deviation from ideals for utility is wrong.
