      子夏“贤贤易色”章承接上章,运用反讽质疑了孔子孝、悌的互文使用和文、质的轻重区分。子夏的观点是:孝、悌有内外之分而文、质应同时并重。随后的“君子不重则不威”章,孔子阐释了文、质的轻重关系,主张一种涵盖了孝、悌的忠信论,批评了子夏“吾必谓之”的修辞方式。
英文摘要:
      Following the previous chapter in The Analects of Confucius, Zi Xia in the chapter of “Treasure virtue rather than beauty” used sarcasm to doubt Confuciuss intertextuality between “honor parents” and “respect brothers”, and he also questioned his extent of importance of outside and inside. Zi Xia indicated that “honor parents” and “respect brothers” may be different domestically and externally, but a man should develop his inside and outside at the same time. In the subsequent chapter “Man without dignity”, Confucius explained the importance of outside and inside, which should be a set of loyalty behavior including “honor parents” and “respect brothers”. He criticized Zi Xias rhetoric of “I would like to say”.
