| 《帕斯顿信札》是英国现存最完整、涉及内容最广泛、最有代表性的书信集，具有很高的史料价值。从1420年开始至1500年前后，位于诺福克郡的帕斯顿家族有意识地保存了家族往来的信件，总数约1 000封。这些信件真实再现了中世纪英格兰社会生活的方方面面，包括政治生活、财产纠纷、婚姻家庭等。更为重要的是，它为我们了解当时的英国民间通信状况提供了翔实的资料。在帕斯顿所处的时代，并没有专门服务于民众信息传递的组织，民间书信主要是通过家族的私人信使、熟人及脚夫等传递。囿于当时的历史条件，无法保证信件传输的时效性和安全性。 |

| Paston Letters is the most complete and representative collection of letters in Britain, which has a high historical value. From 1420 to around 1500, the Paston family in Norfolk consciously kept the letters of the family, with a total of about 1000 letters. These letters truly represent all aspects of social life in medieval England, including political life, property disputes, marriage and family. More importantly, it provided us with detailed and accurate information about the situation of civil communication in Britain at that time. In Pastons time, there was no organization dedicated to serving the peoples information transmission. Folk letters were mainly transmitted through private messengers, acquaintances and porters of the family. Due to the historical conditions at that time, the timeliness and security of letter transmission could not be guaranteed. |
